CVE-2025-62840 is an information disclosure vulnerability in QNAP HBS 3 Hybrid Backup Sync caused by generation of error messages containing sensitive information. The flaw has been described in connection with handling of the rr2s.kwargs parameter by the server_handlers.pyc endpoint, where malformed or attacker-controlled input can trigger error output that exposes application data. On affected installations, a network-adjacent attacker on the local network can exploit the issue to read sensitive information from the application. Public reporting also indicates the vulnerable condition was demonstrated against QNAP TS-453E devices as part of a Pwn2Own exploit chain.
