CVE-2025-62848 is a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability affecting multiple versions of QNAP QTS and QuTS hero. The flaw allows a remote attacker to trigger dereference of a NULL pointer in vulnerable code paths, causing the affected operating system to crash or otherwise become unstable. QNAP identified the issue in its NAS operating system platforms and released fixes for supported branches of QTS and QuTS hero. Based on the available information, the vulnerability is associated with denial-of-service conditions rather than code execution or privilege escalation.
