CVE-2025-66020 is a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability in Valibot, a schema-based data validation library. According to the provided content, versions 0.31.0 through 1.1.0 use a vulnerable EMOJI_REGEX in the emoji action. A short, maliciously crafted input string, reportedly under 100 characters, can trigger excessive backtracking in the regex engine and cause CPU consumption to spike for minutes during validation. This can block or significantly delay application processing where untrusted input is validated with the affected emoji action. The issue is patched in Valibot 1.2.0.
