CVE-2025-68119 is an argument-injection vulnerability in the Go cmd/go toolchain's integration with external version-control systems. Improper construction of VCS commands allows untrusted module sources or version strings to be misinterpreted as command options. On systems with Mercurial installed, downloading modules from non-standard sources or supplying malicious version strings can cause unexpected local code execution. On systems with Git installed, explicitly supplied malicious module version strings can cause arbitrary filesystem writes during module downloading and building. The Git malicious-version-string attack does not affect @latest or bare module paths.

A vulnerability in Go's module-handling toolchain can cause local code execution through improperly constructed Mercurial commands or arbitrary file writes when Git is installed. The Mercurial issue can arise when downloading modules from non-standard sources or supplying malicious version strings. The Git issue requires explicitly supplied malicious version strings and does not affect @latest or bare module paths. The plugin reports a CVSS v3 base score of 7.0 and recommends upgrading golang-1.24 to version 1.24.12 or later.
A locally exploitable vulnerability affecting AlmaLinux 9.2 packages covered by the referenced TuxCare/Alma Linux local security check. It is rated Important, with high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact under CVSS v3, and requires local access, low privileges, and high attack complexity.
Go toolchain (cmd/go) VCS integration vulnerability enabling arbitrary code execution on systems with Git/Mercurial when fetching/building modules with malicious version strings (command-line manipulation via crafted version prefixes).
A cmd/go toolchain vulnerability where VCS (e.g., Git/Mercurial) handling can be misinterpreted, enabling code execution and/or arbitrary file writes via malicious module versions/domains when using custom go get paths.
