CVE-2025-68183 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Integrity Measurement Architecture (IMA) appraisal logic. When both IMA and Extended Verification Module (EVM) operate in fix mode, setting or removing a non-IMA security extended attribute can incorrectly clear the IMA_DIGSIG flag. If an IMA signature has already been stored, subsequent SELinux attribute changes, EVM attribute removal, or access-control-list modifications can cause the kernel to replace that signature with an IMA hash when the file closes. This also affects package installation workflows using rpm-plugin-ima, which can produce hashes instead of the intended reference signatures.

A Linux kernel Integrity Measurement Architecture vulnerability involving improper clearing of the IMA_DIGSIG flag when setting or removing non-IMA extended attributes. Affected Rocky Linux 10.2 kernel packages have security updates available.
A Linux kernel IMA integrity-handling vulnerability incorrectly clears the IMA_DIGSIG flag when non-IMA extended attributes or ACLs are changed. With IMA and EVM in fix mode, this can replace a file's IMA signature with a hash, undermining signature-based integrity appraisal. The reference assigns a CVSS v3 base score of 7.8 and provides a minimal C reproducer, but explicitly reports that no known exploits are available.
A Linux kernel Integrity Measurement Architecture (IMA) integrity flaw in which updates to non-IMA extended attributes can reset the IMA_DIGSIG flag, causing a stored IMA signature to be replaced by a file hash in IMA and EVM fix-mode configurations.
A vulnerability addressed by the referenced CentOS Stream 8 TuxCare security update; no technical details are provided.
