CVE-2025-68665 is a serialization-injection vulnerability in LangChain JS affecting @langchain/core versions before 0.3.80 and 1.1.8, and langchain versions before 0.3.37 and 1.2.3. The vulnerable toJSON() implementation does not escape free-form, user-controlled data in kwargs that contains the internal lc key. Because lc marks LangChain serialized objects, such data can be interpreted as a legitimate LangChain object rather than plain data when deserialized. This can enable secret extraction and unsafe instantiation of classes available through import maps.
