CVE-2025-69425 is a critical remote code execution vulnerability in Ruckus vRIoT IoT Controller firmware versions prior to 3.0.0.0 (GA). The appliance exposes a command execution service on TCP port 2004 that runs with root privileges. Access to this service is protected using a hardcoded Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) secret together with an embedded static token rather than unique, securely managed credentials. An attacker who extracts this authentication material from the appliance firmware or from a compromised device can generate valid authentication tokens and invoke the service to execute arbitrary operating system commands as root. Because the vulnerable service itself executes commands with root privileges, successful exploitation results directly in full compromise of the controller.
