CVE-2025-71131 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel crypto seqiv component. The affected code dereferences the AEAD request IV member after calling crypto_aead_encrypt(). Because asynchronous completion may free the underlying request as soon as the encryption operation is invoked, the post-call dereference can access freed memory. The upstream fix preserves the required comparison state in a separate unaligned_info variable rather than accessing the request IV after encryption.
