CVE-2025-71215 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in the Trend Micro Apex One agent for macOS, specifically within the iCore service’s signature verification logic. The flaw is a time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) condition caused by improper file path checking during signature verification. A local attacker who can already execute low-privileged code on the target system may be able to exploit the race condition to interfere with the verification workflow and cause privileged processing of attacker-controlled content. Successful exploitation can result in arbitrary code execution in the context of root on affected installations.
