CVE-2025-71281 affects XenForo before 2.3.7. The vulnerability is caused by improper restriction of methods callable from within templates: XenForo used a loose prefix match rather than a stricter first-word match when determining which methods were accessible through template callbacks and variable method calls. As a result, an attacker with the ability to reach the vulnerable template invocation path could potentially trigger unauthorized method invocations that should have been blocked by the template method restrictions.
