CVE-2025-9293 is an improper certificate validation vulnerability affecting multiple TP-Link Android applications, including Omada, Omada Guard, Tapo, Kasa, Tether, Deco, Aginet, tpCamera, WiFi Toolkit, Festa, Wi‑Fi Navi, and KidShield. The flaw is in the applications' TLS certificate validation logic, which performs insufficient validation of server identities and relies on a compromised chain of trust associated with related TP-Link certificate-handling weaknesses. As a result, the applications may accept untrusted or improperly validated certificates during encrypted communications, weakening authentication of remote endpoints and enabling interception of ostensibly protected sessions.
