CVE-2026-0509 is a critical missing authorization check vulnerability in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and ABAP Platform. In certain cases, the affected code permits an authenticated, low-privileged user to execute background Remote Function Calls without the required S_RFC authorization. The flaw is an authorization enforcement failure in which the expected access-control validation is not properly applied before allowing background RFC execution. Because the vulnerable functionality is reachable remotely over the network and does not require user interaction, a low-privileged attacker can abuse legitimate application access to invoke unauthorized background operations. The vulnerability affects integrity and availability rather than confidentiality.
