CVE-2026-100716 is an authenticated privilege-escalation vulnerability in Froxlor versions 2.3.10 and earlier affecting the customer DataDump export workflow. An off-by-one error in the path-component validation performed by Froxlor\FileDir::makeCorrectDir() skips the first component beneath the customer home directory, while the export cron validates only the final destination component for symlink status. A customer can schedule an export to a legitimate location and replace an intermediate component with a symbolic link before the root-owned export cron executes. The subsequent recursive ownership-change operation follows the substituted link and applies customer ownership to the linked directory tree. The issue is an incomplete fix for an earlier GitHub Security Advisory and is resolved in Froxlor 2.3.12.

An unspecified critical security vulnerability with a stated severity score of 9.9. The content says public active exploitation has not been confirmed.
A critical authenticated symlink path-traversal and privilege-escalation flaw in Froxlor's DataDump export cron. It can cause root-owned operations to grant an attacker ownership of system files, enabling host-root compromise and cross-tenant impact.
A deterministic authenticated symlink/path-validation flaw in Froxlor's DataDump export cron. It permits an export-enabled customer to cause a root-owned cron job to recursively chown an arbitrary symlinked directory tree, such as /etc, to the customer's UID, resulting in host-root and cross-tenant compromise.
A critical symlink path-validation flaw in Froxlor's customer data-export cron job that allows an authenticated customer with exports enabled to obtain host-root privileges and compromise other tenants. The issue is deterministic and does not require a race condition.
