CVE-2026-12847 is a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the default DVRSearch service of the GeoVision GV-I/O Box 4E. The service listens for unauthenticated UDP messages on port 10001 and can be reached by any user on the same network. The flaw is associated with processing of the CMD_IP_SET command. During handling of a received UDP message, the service reads up to 1460 bytes into a local buffer and stores a pointer to that buffer in a global variable. In the vulnerable code path, the length of the gateway field is computed with strlen on g_network_config->gateway and then copied with memcpy into a stack-based reply buffer at offset 216 without adequate bounds checking. Because the gateway field is attacker-controlled, this results in an attacker-controlled stack overflow and memory corruption condition.
