An improper authorization vulnerability in GitLab CE/EE allows an authenticated user operating through an OAuth application with the read_api scope to perform unauthorized write actions against private projects. Affected versions are all releases from 16.0 before 18.9.7, 18.10 before 18.10.6, and 18.11 before 18.11.3. Due to insufficient authorization enforcement in GraphQL token scope handling, the application could permit creation of issues and addition of comments to issues in private projects even though the token scope should have been limited to read-only API access.
