CVE-2026-13713 is a memory-safety vulnerability in YAML::Syck for Perl, affecting versions before 1.47, in the bundled libsyck parser. When an anchor name is redefined or removed during parsing, the handler logic in syck_hdlr_add_anchor and syck_hdlr_remove_anchor frees the associated SyckNode with syck_free_node even though that node can still remain referenced on the parser's value stack. Later, syck_hdlr_add_node can encounter the same stale node again, resulting in a use-after-free condition followed by a second free of the same allocation. The flaw is reachable through the default YAML::Syck::Load path without special flags, including with very small crafted YAML input that redefines an anchor mid-parse. On typical builds, exploitation causes the Perl interpreter to abort, producing a denial-of-service condition.
