CVE-2026-13776 is a critical type confusion vulnerability in Dawn, the Chromium component used for WebGPU functionality, affecting Google Chrome prior to version 150.0.7871.47. The flaw can be triggered via crafted HTML content and occurs in a graphics and rendering-related subsystem exposed to web content. Available reporting indicates that exploitation requires the attacker to have already compromised the renderer process; from that position, the type confusion bug can be used to cross a security boundary and potentially escape Chrome’s sandbox. As a memory-safety flaw, successful exploitation may enable invalid object interpretation and unsafe memory access, creating conditions for control-flow hijacking or further code execution beyond the renderer sandbox.
