CVE-2026-1519 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in BIND 9 DNSSEC-validating recursive resolvers. During insecure delegation validation, the isdelegation() path invokes isc_iterated_hash() using an NSEC3 iteration value supplied by the zone without enforcing the DNS_NSEC3_MAXITERATIONS limit. A malicious zone can publish NSEC3 records with an extremely high iteration count, causing expensive repeated hashing while the resolver validates DS insecurity proofs. Affected versions are BIND 9.11.0 through 9.16.50, 9.18.0 through 9.18.46, 9.20.0 through 9.20.20, 9.21.0 through 9.21.19, and the corresponding listed Supported Preview Edition releases.
