CVE-2026-16313 is an improper neutralization of CRLF sequences in sg3_utils device-identification export handling. When the affected SCSI inquiry utility is run in export mode, it emits device-supplied SCSI name-string fields without sanitizing control characters. A crafted device name containing a newline can therefore terminate an intended udev database property and inject additional attacker-controlled properties.
