CVE-2026-18948 is a critical unsafe deserialization vulnerability in Feast involving user-defined functions stored in the registry and serialized with the dill library. Feast deserializes these registry-stored UDF objects without adequate trust validation or authorization enforcement, allowing attacker-controlled serialized content to be processed as executable Python objects. In default configurations, a remote attacker can store a malicious UDF and trigger unauthenticated arbitrary code execution on the feature server. The flaw also affects deserialization paths on the registry server, where an authenticated attacker can bypass authorization checks during deserialization and execute arbitrary code. Because the vulnerable objects are shared through the registry, exploitation can affect multiple Feast-related components and create opportunities for cross-tenant access and internal pivoting.
