What it means and what to do now: patch path, interim mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.
What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.
Successful exploitation could allow arbitrary command execution on the affected system. The execution privileges and specific consequences for data confidentiality, service availability, or connected systems are not established.
If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.
IBM documents no workaround. Independent compensating guidance includes restricting management and authentication endpoints to trusted networks, network segmentation, web application firewall rules targeting command injection, and outbound-connection monitoring. These controls are not official IBM workarounds or substitutes for patching.
Patch, then assume compromise.
Upgrade IBM Security Verify Access appliances to version 10.0.9.3 and IBM Verify Identity Access appliances to version 11.0.3.1. For Container editions, apply the corresponding fixed images using IBM's container download guidance. Apply the applicable updates promptly.
