A denial-of-service vulnerability in Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software affects processing of Galois/Counter Mode (GCM)-encrypted IKEv2 IPsec traffic. The flaw is caused by allocation of an insufficiently sized block of memory during handling of crafted GCM-encrypted IPsec traffic. An authenticated remote attacker who can establish a VPN connection to the affected device can trigger the condition by sending malicious traffic, causing the device to unexpectedly reload.
