CVE-2026-20069 is a client-side request smuggling vulnerability in the VPN web services component of Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software. The issue is caused by improper validation of HTTP requests in web services endpoints that support VPN features. By inducing a victim to visit an attacker-controlled website, an unauthenticated remote attacker can cause malicious HTTP requests to be passed to an affected device and have attacker-controlled input reflected back into the victim’s browser. Successful exploitation enables browser-based attacks, including reflected cross-site scripting, against users interacting with the affected device. The vulnerability does not provide direct compromise of the underlying Cisco device itself.
