CVE-2026-20082 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software related to handling of embryonic connection limits. The flaw is caused by improper handling of new incoming TCP connections destined for management or data interfaces while the device is under a TCP SYN flood condition. By sending a crafted stream of traffic to an affected device, an unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger incorrect dropping of incoming TCP SYN packets. This prevents legitimate TCP sessions from being established and affects management-plane and data-plane TCP services exposed by the device.
