CVE-2026-20147 is a critical authenticated remote command injection vulnerability in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector (ISE-PIC). The flaw is caused by insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the web management interface, allowing crafted HTTP requests to inject operating system commands. Available technical analysis places the vulnerable logic in the deployment-rpc nodeTest method, where attacker-controlled input supplied through the restartNodes parameter is passed into RestartUtil.invokeScript and incorporated into a shell command without proper sanitization. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system, initially yielding user-level OS access and enabling subsequent privilege escalation to root. In single-node ISE deployments, exploitation can also render the node unavailable and create a denial-of-service condition that prevents unauthenticated endpoints from accessing the network until service is restored.

A critical authenticated OS command injection vulnerability in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector (ISE-PIC) that allows remote code execution as root via the deployment-rpc nodeTest method.
A critical Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and ISE-PIC command execution vulnerability caused by insufficient validation of user-supplied input in HTTP requests, allowing an authenticated administrative attacker to execute arbitrary commands and potentially escalate to root.
Critical vulnerability in Cisco ISE and Cisco ISE-PIC caused by insufficient validation of user input in HTTP requests, allowing a remote attacker with administrative privileges to gain OS access, escalate to root, execute arbitrary system commands, or cause node unavailability.
An input validation vulnerability in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and ISE-PIC that could allow an authenticated attacker with admin credentials to achieve remote code execution via crafted HTTP requests.
