CVE-2026-20186 is a critical command injection vulnerability in Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). The flaw is caused by insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the Cisco ISE web management interface, allowing crafted HTTP requests to reach the underlying operating system in an unsafe manner. An authenticated remote attacker with at least Read Only Admin privileges can exploit the issue to execute arbitrary commands on the affected device. Successful exploitation can provide initial user-level access on the underlying operating system and enable subsequent privilege escalation to root. In single-node ISE deployments, exploitation can also render the node unavailable.
