CVE-2026-20432 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the MediaTek modem component caused by a missing bounds check. A malformed or unexpected input processed by the modem can write beyond the intended memory boundary. In the described attack scenario, exploitation is possible when a user equipment device connects to a rogue attacker-controlled base station. The flaw does not require additional execution privileges on the target device, but it does require user interaction. The vulnerability is tracked by Patch ID MOLY01406170 and Issue ID MSV-4461.
