CVE-2026-20699 is a downgrade issue in AppleMobileFileIntegrity affecting Intel-based Mac computers. Apple states that the flaw could allow an app to access user-sensitive data. The issue was addressed by adding additional code-signing restrictions, indicating that insufficient enforcement around code-signing and version/downgrade handling allowed an application to leverage an older or less-restricted state to bypass intended protections. Apple lists this issue as affecting macOS Sequoia, macOS Sonoma, and macOS Tahoe on Intel-based systems.
