CVE-2026-20701 is an access control issue in Apple's NetAuth component affecting macOS Sequoia, Sonoma, and Tahoe. Apple states that an app may be able to connect to a network share without user consent. The issue was addressed by adding additional sandbox restrictions, indicating that the flaw allowed a sandboxed or otherwise constrained application to bypass intended authorization or consent boundaries governing outbound access to network shares.
