CVE-2026-20963 is a critical remote code execution vulnerability in Microsoft Office SharePoint caused by deserialization of untrusted data. The flaw affects on-premises SharePoint deployments, including SharePoint Enterprise Server 2016, SharePoint Server 2019, and SharePoint Server Subscription Edition; older unsupported SharePoint Server 2007, 2010, and 2013 versions are also reported vulnerable. Successful exploitation allows a remote attacker to send crafted data to a vulnerable SharePoint server and trigger unsafe deserialization, resulting in arbitrary code execution in a low-complexity network attack. Multiple reports characterize the issue as exploitable without authentication and without user interaction, and the vulnerability was added to CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog in March 2026 after in-the-wild exploitation was confirmed.
