CVE-2026-23210 is a race condition in the Linux kernel Intel ice Ethernet driver’s Precision Time Protocol handling during virtual station interface (VSI) rebuild. The reset sequence cancels PTP work, but the vulnerable implementation re-queues periodic PTP work before the subsequent VSI rebuild has initialized receive-ring state. The worker can therefore execute concurrently with the rebuild and dereference a NULL VSI receive-ring pointer in PTP timestamp-cache updating logic. The correction retains cancellation of PTP work through the rebuild and queues it only after rebuild completion, gated on PTP support and the ICE_PTP_READY state.
