CVE-2026-23216 is a use-after-free race in the Linux kernel SCSI target iSCSI subsystem. In iscsit_dec_conn_usage_count(), complete() was invoked while conn->conn_usage_lock remained held. A thread waiting for completion, including the connection-close path, could then resume and free the associated iscsit_conn object before the original thread executed spin_unlock_bh(). The original thread subsequently attempted to release a spinlock embedded in freed memory, producing a slab use-after-free condition. The correction releases conn->conn_usage_lock before signaling completion.
