A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel net/sched subsystem involving the traffic control connection-tracking action, act_ct. The flaw occurs when act_ct is bound to unsupported non-ingress egress qdiscs. In the vulnerable path, packet classification can return TC_ACT_CONSUMED while the skb is still retained by the defragmentation engine; the packet may then be accessed again later, resulting in a use-after-free condition. The issue stems from act_ct being used outside its intended binding context. The upstream fix restricts act_ct binding to clsact/ingress qdiscs and shared blocks, while still permitting egress attachment only through clsact.
