CVE-2026-23412 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel netfilter BPF link implementation. The issue occurs when hook objects are freed while concurrent readers are still enumerating hooks via nfnetlink_hooks, leading to a slab-use-after-free in nfnl_hook_dump_one(). The provided context indicates the bug is in the netfilter BPF hook lifetime handling, where hook memory release was not deferred until RCU readers had completed. Supporting analysis further attributes the flaw to nf_bpf_link.c, where the bpf_nf_link_lops structure used synchronous deallocation instead of RCU-deferred freeing, allowing a race between BPF link destruction and NFNL_MSG_HOOK_GET dump operations running under RCU read-side protection. The fix changes the release behavior so hook memory is only freed after the relevant RCU grace period.
