CVE-2026-24182 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the NVIDIA Display Driver for Windows and Linux. The issue is caused by a kernel driver lock leak in an error-handling path: a routine in the vulnerable driver acquires an ERESOURCE lock and, on malformed or otherwise failing input, can exit without releasing that lock. Analysis of the patched code indicates the fix reroutes the bailout path through dedicated cleanup logic that invokes ExReleaseResourceLite before returning. Because the flaw leaves held driver locks unreleased, repeated triggering can accumulate leaked synchronization resources and destabilize driver operation.
