CVE-2026-25547 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in @isaacs/brace-expansion, a hybrid CommonJS/ESM TypeScript fork of brace-expansion. Versions prior to 5.0.1 perform eager, synchronous expansion of brace patterns without adequate bounds checking. When processing attacker-supplied patterns containing repeated numeric brace ranges, the library attempts to generate every possible expansion combination, causing exponential growth in work and output size. This uncontrolled expansion can rapidly exhaust CPU and memory resources and terminate the Node.js process. The issue is fixed in version 5.0.1.
