CVE-2026-25547 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the Node.js package @isaacs/brace-expansion, a hybrid CJS/ESM TypeScript fork of brace-expansion. Versions prior to 5.0.1 perform eager, synchronous expansion of brace patterns. When supplied with patterns containing repeated numeric brace ranges, the library generates every possible combination without adequate bounds checking or complexity limits. Because the number of generated expansions grows exponentially, even relatively small crafted inputs can trigger uncontrolled resource consumption. This can monopolize CPU, exhaust memory, block the Node.js event loop, and terminate the process. The issue is fixed in version 5.0.1.
