CVE-2026-26132 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Windows Kernel that can be exploited by a local attacker to elevate privileges. The flaw arises from improper handling of object lifetime in kernel-mode code, creating a condition where freed memory can still be referenced. By triggering this stale reference in a controlled way, an attacker with local code execution can corrupt kernel memory and obtain execution in a more privileged security context.
