CVE-2026-27171 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in zlib before version 1.3.2. The flaw affects the crc32_combine64 and crc32_combine_gen64 code paths because the internal x2nmodp routine can perform right shifts inside a loop that lacks a proper termination condition. Under conditions that reach these routines, the defect can cause non-terminating or excessively long computation, resulting in uncontrolled CPU consumption.
