CVE-2026-28308 is a critical insecure direct object reference vulnerability in SolarWinds Serv-U. The flaw arises from improper authorization around direct object access within Serv-U and can be abused by an attacker who already has domain administrator access to reach functionality or resources in a way that ultimately enables remote code execution. The issue affects Serv-U 15.5.4 HF1 and earlier and was fixed in Serv-U 2026.3. Available reporting indicates the resulting impact is more severe on Linux deployments, while Windows deployments are affected with comparatively lower impact.
