CVE-2026-28310 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in SolarWinds Serv-U affecting Serv-U 15.5.4 HF1 and earlier on Windows and Linux. The flaw allows an authenticated domain administrator to elevate their user type to system administrator, indicating a broken authorization condition in which a highly privileged administrative role can obtain a higher-tier administrative role than intended. Available classification maps the issue to CWE-862. The vulnerability is remotely reachable over the network and does not require user interaction, but it does require pre-existing high privileges within the application. Impact is noted as lower on Windows deployments than on Linux deployments.
