The flaw allows an attacker with existing high-privilege access within Serv-U to elevate a group's permissions to system administrator. On Linux deployments, successful exploitation can further enable execution of code with root privileges. The issue is associated with improper authorization and broken access control conditions that permit unauthorized elevation of administrative capability within the application.
