CVE-2026-28313 is an insecure direct object reference vulnerability in SolarWinds Serv-U affecting version 15.5.4 HF1 and earlier on Windows and Linux. The flaw allows improper access to object references within Serv-U in a way that can be abused to manipulate SMTP-related functionality. Successful exploitation can result in SMTP hijacking and arbitrary takeover of user accounts. Available reporting indicates the issue is network-reachable, requires no user interaction, and occurs in the context of an authenticated attacker with elevated privileges. The impact is noted as lower on Windows deployments than on Linux deployments.
