CVE-2026-28691 is an uninitialized pointer dereference vulnerability in ImageMagick's JBIG decoder. The flaw is caused by a missing check that allows the decoder to dereference an uninitialized pointer while processing crafted JBIG image data. Affected versions are ImageMagick prior to 7.1.2-16 and 6.9.13-41. The vulnerability can be triggered during image parsing or conversion operations involving JBIG content and may cause abnormal process termination; depending on surrounding memory conditions and exploitability, it may also present a path toward more severe memory-safety consequences.
