CVE-2026-28827 is a sandbox escape vulnerability in Apple NetFSFramework affecting macOS Sequoia, Sonoma, and Tahoe prior to macOS Sequoia 15.7.5, macOS Sonoma 14.8.5, and macOS Tahoe 26.4. Apple describes the issue as a parsing flaw in the handling of directory paths that was addressed through improved path validation. The vulnerable condition allows an application to improperly process directory path input in a way that can bypass intended filesystem or sandbox path restrictions, resulting in the app being able to break out of its sandbox.
