CVE-2026-3121 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in Keycloak caused by improper authorization semantics in realm administration. When admin permissions are enabled at the realm level, an administrator granted the manage-clients permission can exploit a condition in which that permission becomes effectively equivalent to manage-permissions. This breaks intended privilege separation and allows the administrator to extend control beyond client management into broader realm administration. As a result, a user with only manage-clients rights can gain unauthorized control over roles, users, and other administrative functions within the realm.
