CVE-2026-31411 is a Linux kernel ATM networking vulnerability in the signaling send path. The path from sendmsg() through vcc_sendmsg() to sigd_send() accepts a VCC pointer originating in userspace-controlled message data and dereferences it without establishing that it refers to a valid ATM VCC object. A local process acting as the ATM signaling daemon can return a forged pointer, causing an invalid kernel pointer dereference. The fix adds find_get_vcc(), which locates the supplied pointer in the VCC hash table and obtains a socket reference before use, preserving object lifetime during processing.
