CVE-2026-32154 is an elevation-of-privilege vulnerability in Microsoft Desktop Window Manager (DWM) caused by a use-after-free condition. The flaw arises from improper handling of memory lifecycle within the DWM component, allowing a locally authenticated attacker to trigger access to freed memory. Successful exploitation can corrupt process state in a controlled manner and elevate execution from a low-privileged local context to SYSTEM. Microsoft rated the vulnerability Important and assessed exploitation as more likely.
