CVE-2026-32204 is a local elevation-of-privilege vulnerability in Microsoft Azure Monitor Agent on Linux. The flaw is caused by insufficient validation of file name and path values in configuration message handling, allowing external control over file paths processed by the agent. A locally authenticated attacker with low privileges can send specially crafted configuration messages to the agent and cause arbitrary file writes using the service's elevated execution context. This file-write primitive can then be leveraged to execute unauthorized code and escalate privileges to root.
