CVE-2026-32280 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the Go standard library affecting the crypto/x509 and crypto/tls packages. During X.509 certificate chain building, the implementation does not correctly limit the amount of work performed when a large number of intermediate certificates are supplied through VerifyOptions.Intermediates. As a result, processing attacker-controlled or otherwise untrusted certificate chains can trigger excessive computational work and resource consumption. The issue affects both applications that directly use crypto/x509 and applications that rely on crypto/tls for TLS certificate processing.
