CVE-2026-32281 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Go's crypto/x509 certificate validation logic. Certificate chain validation that involves certificate policies can become unexpectedly inefficient when certificates in the chain contain a very large number of policy mappings. The flaw affects validation of otherwise trusted certificate chains anchored to a root CA present in the VerifyOptions.Roots CertPool or the system certificate pool. An attacker able to supply or trigger validation of such a crafted chain can cause excessive computational work during path validation.
